Detox your writing - Emphasis

Detox your composition Detox your composition Is your composing feeling somewhat out of shape and in a bad way? Treat it to a one-month detox treatment by observing these three standards. Get dynamic The dynamic voice is more straightforward, dynamic and responsible. The Government made no move is better than No move was made or No move was made by the Government. Its obviously better to have individuals or associations making a move than to depict things as bafflingly occurring or being finished. At the point when you utilize the dynamic voice, you once in a while locate a significantly less complex method of communicating. An installment was made by the CEO a week ago. becomes The CEO made an installment a week ago. which you would then be able to change to The CEO paid a week ago. Remain organized Not many of the individuals you compose for are clairvoyant or have dependable recollections. On the off chance that you put the primary piece of the sentence toward the end, they should peruse as far as possible before they can begin to comprehend the start. This psychological reverse somersault could be everything necessary to befuddle them, divert them, or put them off. Organizing sentences legitimately will: keep your perusers perusing ensure they have to peruse each sentence just a single time convey the desired information. Continuously put the essential condition first. Or then again, at the end of the day, put the what before the why. Along these lines, instead of So as to accomplish these objectives inside the predefined time period, we have to start the preparation now. compose We have to start the preparation presently, so as to accomplish these objectives inside the predetermined time span. or on the other hand, shockingly better (see Lose the cushioning, underneath) We have to start the preparation now, so we can hit our objectives on schedule. Likewise, attempt to adhere to the standard of one sentence = one thought. Focus on a normal sentence length of 15-20 words; a flat out limit of 35. Keep in mind, there is no restriction to the quantity of full stops you can utilize. Lose the cushioning Never botch the capacity to utilize expand phrases for an indication of astuteness. Whats the purpose of thinking carefully to make an interpretation of a short word into a long one, with the goal that your perusers need to think carefully to decipher it back again before they even begin to take in your message? Its additionally a false notion that short words are by one way or another lightweight or less helpful. Actually, they are frequently the most impressive. Nobody is stating that you need to utilize them all the time that would be exhausting. Be that as it may, on the off chance that you need your sentences to have more effect, smooth out them by doing these three basic things: cut out repetitive words supplant long words with short ones supplant long expressions with short ones. After the detox Similarly likewise with smart dieting and exercise systems, the privileged insights of composing great in the long haul are to appreciate it and to allow yourself to try. Utilize this month as a chance to brace down on any terrible composing propensities youve slipped into by truly concentrating on these three focuses. However, that doesnt imply that you can never again utilize the latent voice or your preferred long word. This month, we quick. In the long haul, its everything about the control. Challenge In the interim, heres a snappy four-direct exercise toward consider as you crunch your carrots: 1. Lessen this sentence from nine words to five: It is conceivable that the Chancellor will cut charges. 2. Revise this sentence without the nominalisation (- tion words): It was his conviction that the arrangement of bikes to law officials would prompt a decrease in wrongdoing. 3. Cut two words out of this sentence: Sarah Thompson, who is our promoting executive, will lead the conversation. 4. Modify this sentence without the relational words (of, on, in, by, to): The downturn is of incredible worry to entrepreneurs.

Marxist Cultural Theory Essay -- Film Review, Adorno on Cinema

This part inspects two types of training that impart messages from a gathering or a person to people in general, social creation and political open talking in the light of Marxist social hypotheses. The survey of compositions about the act of craftsmanship by mid-twentieth century Marxist scholars makes one thing understood - stylish articulations by craftsmen and social figures satisfy a job in the political and social talk and the significance of this job inside the setting of class battle must not be overlooked. The job of feel as saw by Marxist scholars, for example, Adorno and Horkheimer is to instruct and motivate people in general to carry on with an actual existence increasingly deserving of living. (Adorno, 2006, p. 39) This section contends that social specialists have a duty to urge general society to face their social and political clashes. Two techniques for accepting this accountability are talked about. First is the case that a political message in a work of art is to be imparted without endeavoring to make an enthusiastic stay for people in general to relate to. This strategy, principally clarified by Brecht, considers the to be message as the most significant part of the work; hence it is essential that the general population gets it and doesn't get occupied. The subsequent methodology, as visualized by Lukã ¡cs, bolsters a portrayal of reality which permits a group of people to identify with and relate to the political messages. The enthusiastic association is introduced in this idea as basic to the effective transmission of a thought, as people relate all the more effectively to points they can interface with inwardly. These two strategies are talked about in the part comparable to the movement of political messages through style, not carefully in the workmanship world, yet additionally ... ... additionally craftsmanship which is well known and pleasurable, not simply workmanship which has a politically 'right' line. In reality to be politically right, workmanship must be pleasurable and available.' (Lovell, 1980, p. 77) Brecht considered workmanship to be an action word. He considered a to be unrest as unavoidable and accepted workmanship ought to be more than avowing to the present situation. The craftsman's job is to bring social change through driving the general population into a basic point of view, and that is accomplished by delivering brave, trial and fierce work, in the topic as well as in the structure also. Brecht saw the current type of craftsmanship practice as supporting the economic wellbeing quo as opposed to upset. He built up his model of the Epic Theater following his examination of the middle class theater and singling out the components in this structure were not serving progressive enough messages.

Each word in English belongs to one of the eight parts of speech. Each word is also either a content word  or a function word. Lets think about what these two types mean: Content Words vs. Function Words Content information, meaningFunction necessary words for grammar In other words, content words give us the most important information while function words are used to stitch those words together. Content Word Types Content words are usually nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. A noun tells us which object, a verb tells us about the action happening, or the state. Adjectives give us details about objects and people and adverbs tell us how, when or where something is done. Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs give us important information required for understanding. Noun person, place or thingVerb action, stateAdjective describes an object, person, place or thingAdverb tells us how, where or when something happens Examples: Nouns Verbs house enjoy computer purchase student visit lake understand Peter believe science look forward to Adjectives Adverbs heavy slowly difficult carefully careful sometimes expensive thoughtfully soft often fast suddenly Other Content Words While nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are the most important content words, there are a few other words that are also key to understanding. These include negatives like no, not and never; demonstrative pronouns including this, that, these and those;  and question words like what, where, when, how and why. Function Word Types Function words help us connect important information. Function words are important for understanding, but they add little meaning beyond defining the relationship between two words. Function words include auxiliary verbs, prepositions, articles, conjunctions, and pronouns. Auxiliary verbs are used to establish the tense, prepositions show relationships in time and space, articles show us something that is specific or one of many, and pronouns refer to other nouns. Auxiliary verbs do, be, have (help with conjugation of tense)Prepositions show relationships in time and spaceArticles used to indicate specific or non-specific nounsConjunctions words that connectPronouns refer to other nouns Examples: Auxiliary Verbs Prepositions do in has at will though is over has been between did under    Articles Conjunctions Pronouns a and I an but you the for him so us since ours as she Knowing the difference between content and functions words is important because content words are stressed in conversation in English. Function words are non-stressed. In other words, function words are not emphasized in speech, while content words are highlighted. Knowing the difference between content and function words can help you in understanding, and, most importantly, in pronunciation skills. Measuring Customer Satisfaction Free Essays

In the wake of current economic decline, organizations clearly understand the need for good customer relations. Consumers are paying strict attention to the quality, cost and availability of the products they desire. Moreover, consumers are watching the business practices of the organizations that provide them with goods and services. We will write a custom essay sample on Measuring Customer Satisfaction or any similar topic only for you Order Now Organizations understand that in order to be profitable they need to create and maintain a wholesome customer base and in order to do this the customer has to be satisfied. When measuring the quality of an organization’s goods and services, customer satisfaction predicts whether they retain their current customer base. At the very least organizations want to maintain current customers because adding new ones can be costly. Organizations need to know what expectations their customers have of their services and products, the effectiveness of their marketing strategies, the strength of their company’s image, as well as the key elements that most heavily influence customer retention for their business (Importance of Customer Feedback, 2011). This paper will explore what best practices such as customer feedback and evaluations, customer satisfaction, market analysis, service analysis and marketing strategic planning organizations are using to measure customer satisfaction in order to keep their loyal customers while adding new ones. Customer Feedback and Evaluations Organizations are listening to and acting on what their customers are saying by using customer feedback and evaluations tools to improve their company’s success. They using this to stay in sync with their customers’ wants and demands of the goods and services they provide. Companies understand by tailoring their goods and services to meet the customers desires will lead to higher business success (Bosma Research International, 2011). Customer Satisfaction Companies are realizing that for them to maintain a high level of success customer satisfaction is the key. They understand to achieve this, they have to know who their customers are, what’s important to them, how satisfied they are with their goods and services, what keeps them coming back or why are they leaving, what are their needs and expectations of the goods and services provided and are those needs and expectations being met (Bosma Research International, 2011). Market Analysis Market analysis is another important tool that organizations are using to measure customer satisfaction. During this analysis, companies are looking at who are their competitors, how do customers compare them to their competitors, what can they do to increase their competitive edge and how do they compare to industry standards and benchmarks (Bosma Research International, 2011). Service Analysis Organizations rely heavily on their internal analysis and they understand the importance of this tool. In this analysis, companies are looking at what goods and services they provide are most important to their customers, what elements drive customer satisfaction and what is it about the goods and services they provide affects customer retention the most (Bosma Research International, 2011). Marketing and Strategic Planning Finally, businesses are using marketing and strategic planning techniques to measure customer satisfaction. Organizations are looking at the changes needed to their goods and services, how to prioritize the changes and how to implement the changes (Bosma Research International, 2011). Companies understand that this tool is probably one of the most important; however, all the aforementioned customer satisfaction measurements are closely interlinked. Types of Industries Compiled below are a list of industries I think would benefit from the customer satisfaction tools discussed in this paper: Chemical; Consumer Products; Electronics; Consulting; Retail; Publishing; Media; Health Care; Professional Services; Telecommunications; Financial Services; Banking; Computer Software; and Utilities. Each of these industries has a customer ase that they provide goods and services to; moreover, they each have a large number of competitors that their customers can choose. Linkage to My Organization’s Practices This is a challenge linking these customer satisfaction tools to my former organization (US Army) because the Army does not sell products or services. However, I will go out on a limb to say that the US Army sells itself to the American people to gain recruits, trust and support. The US Army uses internal feedback and evaluations to improve training, food, housing, medical services, weapon systems and other equipment to retain current force levels. They understand that if Soldiers are not satisfied they will leave the service in rapid numbers. The US Army does have competitors (i. e. US Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and Civilian Industries) and they look at what their competitors are offering that is equivalent. The US Army spends millions of dollars on marketing and strategic planning to attract new recruits as well keeping their current personnel. Recommendations for My Organizational Improvements I would recommend improving the quality of pay and benefits, recreational services, medical services, and assignment rotations. Summary  In conclusion, customer satisfaction is an important factor for the bottom line. Statistics show that the typical company gets 65 percent of its business from existing customers and it costs five times more to find a new customer than to keep an existing one happy. One study found that businesses with 98 percent customer retention rate are twice as profitable as those at 94 percent (Evans Lindsay, 2009, p. 193). This research shows the importance of creating and implementing best practice tools to measure customer satisfaction, in doing so businesses will not only retain their current loyal customers but also in return add new ones. Taoism And Buddhism Essays - Taoism, Tao, Wu Wei, Laozi, Mantak Chia

Taoism And Buddhism Taoism and Buddhism were born in the same century. Siddhartha reached enlightenment in approximately 535 B.C. and Lao Tzu's teachings were recorded around 500 B.C. There are many similarities in the basics of these two religions. Some of the similarities can be seen clearly when examining the three meaning of Tao. The first definition of Tao is "the way of ultimate reality." This means that Tao cannot be percieved, defined, talked about, or thought of. It is too big a concept for humans to comprehend. As in the first line of the Tao Te Ching (the Taoist text meaning The Way and Its Power): "The Tao that can be spoken is not the true Tao." This is very similar to the Buddhist idea of Nirvana or Enlightenment. Nirvana cannot be understood by one who has not attained it. Even when one has reached Nirvana, he cannot describe it to others, but only help others to reach it as well. In its second sense, Tao means "the way of the universe." Tao is something that goes through all beings, all of the earth. It is everywhere, all the time. It is something that flows through everything. This flowing idea links with the idea in Buddhism that Nirvana can be reached by anyone, as long as one is devoted enough and has lost all attachments. Thirdly, one life must be a certain way to work with the Tao: Tao also refers to "the way of human life" as it "meshes" with the universal Tao in its second sense. This fundamental idea of Taoism has much to do with the "view of unity of man with Heaven and Earth, that is, with Nature." Buddhists also believe that one must live in a certain harmony with nature and the universe to reach Nirvana, or, as it is in Taoism, be at one with the Tao. Another vital concept of Taoism is that of the wu-wei which is to achieve action through minimal action or inaction. Action is friction and inaction is pure effectiveness in Taoism. This concept compares with Buddhist meditation in which one remains perfectly still and uses only one's mind. In this state, one may reach enlightenment. Also, in the Tao Te Ching (13) an idea close to the Buddhist idea of reincarnation is illustrated: Attain to the goal of absolute emptiness, keep to the state of perfect peace. All things come into existence, And thence we see them return. ...Earth goes back to its origin... ...He who knows eternity is called enlightened. He who does not know eternity is running blindly into miseries..." Buddhist reincarnation is the concept that one must go through many cycles of birth, living, and death. After many such cycles, if a person releases their attachment to desire and the self, he can attain Nirvana. In the third and fourth lines of the Taoist passage above, the basic idea of Buddhist reincarnation is explained. In the idea of reincarnation lies the belief that a person will be born and reborn until he or she reaches Nirvana. Taoists also believe in that basic idea: "The Tao surrounds everyone and therefore everyone must listen to find enlightenment." As you can see, although Taoism is more of a philosophy and less of a religion as Buddhism is, there are many similarities.
